6 of the Most Entertaining July Raleigh Events You Won’t Want to Miss

 

Summer in Raleigh is the time to enjoy all sorts of fun festivals, concerts and parties. Beer lovers will appreciate the many beer-centric events, while art aficionados have plenty of festivals and concerts to check out. There’s even a couple of events for fans of comics. These are our favorite July Raleigh events – make sure to mark your calendars!

 

First Friday

First Friday in Raleigh takes place July 6th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dram and Draught. Meet Mary Keith Robbins, the featured artist, and check out some of her latest abstract works that reflect her time in North Carolina. Afterwards, amble over to the First Friday Market outside of the Raleigh Times Bar between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. to grab a local beer and food truck eats, browse the street market and enjoy live music.

 

World Beer Festival Raleigh

Grab your pretzel necklaces and get ready to get your beer on at the World Beer Festival Raleigh on July 7! Your general admission ticket gives you access to sample more than 250 craft and specialty beers at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. VIP admission gets you tastings plus a private VIP lounge where you can taste a bonus selection of rare and unique beers.

 

Raleigh Supercon

If you’re into pop culture, superheroes, anime and science fiction, then you’re going to love Raleigh Supercon! Get into costume or go as you are to the Raleigh Convention Center the weekend of July 27th at the Raleigh Convention Center. The festival features celebrity guests, comic book creators, artists, cosplayers and other industry guests. It’s the perfect excuse to be seen in your best costume and geek out!

 

North Carolina Symphony Summerfest: Annual Beach Party

Pack a cooler and enjoy a concert under the stars! North Carolina Symphony’s Annual Beach Party is July 21st at Cary’s Koka Booth Amphitheatre. The legendary North Tower Band will take the stage to keep you singing and dancing on the lawn until the stars come out. If you forget to pack a picnic, no worries! The amphitheatre concession stands will be open, serving a variety of food and beverages.

Cary’s Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival is one of the can’t miss July Raleigh events for food and beer lovers alike. The Art of Fandom Nerdlesque & Cosplay Fashion Show

Celebrate your inner nerd at The Art of Fandom Nerdlesque & Cosplay Fashion Show on July 13th at 8 p.m. Nerd-Vana and Imurj are hosting this one-of-a-kind event including a gallery of fan art, visual art performances, music and a cosplay fashion show, all culminating in a Nerdlesque show. Come dressed in your best cosplay and marvel at belly dancers, burlesque dancers, hula hoop dancers and fire artists. This is one of the most unique July Raleigh events, so don’t miss it!

 

Where’s Waldo Shop Local Scavenger Hunt Grande Finale Party

Where’s Waldo? Right here in Raleigh! Join the Shop Local Raleigh Scavenger Hunt July 1st through July 29th and look for him at participating local businesses for the chance to win a prize! Pick up your “Find Waldo Local in Wake County!” passport at any of businesses, and get a stamp or signature every time you find a Waldo. Third Friday in Durham

Every third Friday of the month is dedicated to celebrating the arts with Third Friday in Durham. Witness the cultural explosion and go on self-guided tours of the city’s artistic hotspots. This month’s Third Friday takes place on July 20th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There’s no better way to explore downtown Durham’s galleries, artist studios, shops, restaurants and music scene!
